Manifesto_opera metastabile reagente al calore

edizione di 180 per bau15, rivista di cultura contemporanea, Viareggio, 2018

Manifesto è la definizione, in parole/opera, della nostra visione di arte come sistema metastabile, in particolare se relazionata alla produzione di gruppo. Il manifesto è un’opera co-autoriale del gruppo FAMA (For Artists for a Metastable Art), formato da Valentina Lapolla, Rachel Morellet, Eva Sauer e Tatiana Villani.

A metà del foglio troviamo un segno speciale, chiamato » tilde » o « squiggle », scelto a partire dal ruolo che riveste nell’interpretazione del concetto di metastabilità per le neuroscienze. questo segno è stato realizzato utilizzando del succo di limone, in modo che solo ponendolo vicino a una fiamma, ovvero fornendo energia termica, ne viene rivelata la forma, così che il manifesto diventa anche esso metastabile.

Per la presentazione della rivista BAU al Museo Gamc di Viareggio, abbiamo creato la nostra seconda versione del nostro Manifesto, Manifesto Box.

L’oggetto misterioso, posto su un alto piedistallo, rimane silenzioso.

Una scatola nera con una grande bottone bianco che invita all’azione.

Quando lo spettatore tocca il lavoro, il tasto si accende e la scatola inizia a vibrare, producendo rumori sinistri e divertenti – e poi sputa lentamente una lingua di carta: una ricevuta, su cui “Il Manifesto per un’arte metastabile” appare, e lo spettatore può prenderlo. La ricevuta è un regalo destinato a scomparire con il tempo poiché è stampato su un supporto instabile.

Manifesto is the definition, in words/artwork, of our vision of art as a metastable system, in particular, if related to group production. The manifesto is a co-authorial work by the FAMA group (For Artists for a Metastable Art), composed by Valentina Lapolla, Rachel Morellet, Eva Sauer and Tatiana Villani.

In the middle of the paper sheet we find a special sign, called »tilde» or «squiggle», chosen starting from the role it plays in the interpretation of the concept of metastability for neuroscience. This sign was made using lemon juice so that only by placing it near a flame, or by supplying thermal energy, is its shape revealed so that the poster also becomes metastable.

Manifesto Box

For the presentation of the BAU Magazine at the Gamc Museum in Viareggio, we created our second version of our Manifesto, Manifesto Box.

The mysterious object, placed on a high pedestal, remains silent.

A black box with a big white key that invites to action.

When the viewer touches the work, the key lights up and the box begins to vibrate, producing sinister and funny noises – and then it slowly spits out a paper tongue: a receipt, on which, however, “The Manifesto for a Metastable Art” appears, which the viewer can take. The receipt is a gift destined to disappear with the time as it is printed on a unstable support.
