Un progetto che approfondisce il rapporto tra fotografia, pittura e disegno e lo fa cercando l’altro nella relazione.
Tra le pieghe è il progetto realizzato nell’agosto 2017 per la residenza Vis à vis, di Limiti Inchiusi, a San Giuliano del Sannio in Molise.
Il progetto si divide in tre parti, una performance 1 a 1 svoltasi con gli abitanti del paese durante tutto il periodo di residenza e che ha prodotto una serie di coppie di elaborati. L’incontro consisteva in un dialogo durante il quale l’artista ritraeva velocemente, grazie all’uso di una camera lucida, il partecipante mentre lo intervistava. Un tentativo di creare un ritratto della comunità partendo dai singoli ritratti e narrazioni.
La seconda parte è composta da due fotografie che tentano di immortalare una grossissima luna, che campeggia nel paesaggio, da una macchina in corsa.
La terza parte è stata realizzata durante un workshop con dei bambini tra i 6 e i 10 anni, a cui è stato chiesto di compiere un’azione impossibile e di vivere la performance prima come attori e poi come spettatori del video che ne è conseguito. Il risultato “Bambini” chiude la mostra permanentemente allestita all’interno della torre del Municipio, luogo indicato da tutti i cittadini intervistati come punto di riferimento per il paese.
Tra le pieghe è un utopico tentativo di ritrarre una realtà considerandone ogni particolare, creando un archivio abbondante e mai completo. Tiene di conto anche dell’assurdo tecnico, scattando fotografie “sbagliate” e affidandosi all’inconscio tecnologico dello strumento. Infine giocando con i bambini scoprire come si comporta una micro-comunità se le viene chiesto di compiere un gesto impossibile e di conseguenza di fallire.

A project that deepens the relationship between photography, painting and drawing and does it by looking for the other in the relationship.
Tra le pieghe (Among the folds) is the project realized in August 2017 for the Vis à vis residence of Limiti Inchiusi, in San Giuliano del Sannio in Molise.
The project is divided into three parts, a 1 to 1 performance held with the inhabitants of the little town throughout the period of residence and which produced a series of pairs of works. The performance meeting consisted of a dialogue during which the artist quickly portrayed the participant while interviewing him, thanks to the use of a camera lucida. An attempt to create a portrait of the community starting from individual portraits and narratives.
The second part consists of two photographs that attempt to capture a huge moon, that dominates the landscape, from a racing car.
The third part was carried out during a workshop with children between 6 and 10 years of age, who were asked to take an impossible action and to live the performance first as actors and then as viewers of the video that has been achieved. The result “Bambini” closes the exhibition permanently set up inside the tower of the Town Hall, a place indicated by all citizens interviewed as a reference point for San Giuliano del Sannio.
Tra le pieghe (Among the folds) is a utopian attempt to portray a reality considering every detail, creating an abundant and never complete archive. It also takes into account the technical absurd, taking “wrong” photographs and relying on the instrument’s technological unconscious. Finally, playing with the children find out how a micro-community behaves if asked to make an impossible gesture and consequently to fail.
