I proceeded simultaneously on one hand with the experimental work on different materials in order to find one fit to my aim, and on the other hand with the graphic research concerning the symbols that I planned to use.
With regard to the materials, I chose to use paraffin, which enabled me to make big sculpted slabs (measuring 48x48 cm) suggestive of petroglyphs. I chose it because I liked it by an aesthetical point of view, and also because it is very malleable.
With regard to the symbols, I researched them on the internet, then I sketched them, and finally I drew them carefully, in order to perfectly fit them to the size of my matricial square (about 10x10 cm), so to minimize the margin of error in the transition towards the sculpting process.
I made 80 drawings distributed across 5 slabs which contain 16 drawings each.
The front page, on the contrary, is an artwork of my own creation.
On the back cover an embossed QR code will appear (which is the same one you used to get to this very page), bearing at its centre my own signature logo.
